Criss Cross was an American hip hop duo consisting of Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith. They were discovered by producer Jermaine Dupri in 1991 and released their debut album "Totally Krossed Out" in 1992. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and spawning hits like "Jump" and "Warm It Up".
Criss Cross was known for their unique style of wearing their clothing backwards, which helped to further popularize the trend in the early 1990s. They were also known for their energetic performances and catchy, party-friendly songs.
Despite their initial success, Criss Cross struggled to maintain their popularity and disbanded in the mid-1990s. Tragically, Chris Kelly passed away in 2013 at the age of 34. Despite their relatively short career, Criss Cross remains a memorable and influential group in the history of hip hop.
